Using AI to assist ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia

With the recent release of the large language model GPT-3 there has been an explosion of interest in AI and its applications in a range of fields including healthcare.

This paper, published in the British Journal of Anaesthesia, looked at anaesthetists who were non-experts in regional anaesthesia, and found that with the use of an assistive AI device, ultrasound image aquisition and interpretation was improved.
